HENLEY HII 许亮宇

Henley Hii (许亮宇) stands as one of Malaysia’s most versatile and accomplished crossover talents. Bridging both Chinese and Malay entertainment markets seamlessly for nearly two decades, Henley has established a rare cross-cultural prominence as an award-winning singer-songwriter, box office leading man, and dedicated action performer.

Born and raised in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Henley exploded into national consciousness in 2007 when he captured the title of Champion in 8TV’s Project Superstar Malaysia (Season 2). Combining magnetic stage charisma with rich vocal power and instrumental prowess on both acoustic guitar and piano, he quickly released landmark Mandopop albums including Take Me Away (2008), Crazy (2010), and Let’s Have Fun (2014), clinching major Best Newcomer and Songwriting honors across Southeast Asia.

Committed to the highest standards of physical discipline, Henley undertook extensive martial arts conditioning, tactical combat training, and certified scuba training. His physical authenticity anchored subsequent cinematic achievements, including the high-octane mixed martial arts spectacle WIRA (2019) and the psychological action thriller THE ASSISTANT (2022), which earned international acclaim and prestigious official selections at the Udine Far East Film Festival in Italy and the Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal.

Demonstrating dynamic dramatic range and cross-border appeal, Henley took on a commanding role in the high-profile Astro Originals crime syndicate saga THE EXILED (《義和》) and its anticipated follow-up THE EXILED 2 (《義和2》). Collaborating closely with top Hong Kong TVB headliners including Lai Lok-Yi (黎诺懿), Ali Lee (李佳芯), Priscilla Wong (黄翠如), and veteran icon Michelle Yim (米雪), Henley delivered a layered performance as syndicate key player Lim Kian Keong before undergoing a dramatic narrative reversal as Senior Police Inspector Chow Kai Ming. He also co-recorded the series' powerful theme song 《光与诚》 (Light and Sincerity), solidifying his stature in marquee regional co-productions alongside upcoming action feature LEGASI: BOMBA THE MOVIE.

Fluent across Mandarin, Bahasa Malaysia, English, Hakka, and Cantonese, Henley remains a revered cultural bridge and sought-after brand ambassador for premier international and regional lifestyle brands. He continues to push creative boundaries across Southeast Asian cinema, original music, and high-impact productions.
